Johan de Jong

With programming as a hobby it only makes sense to make a job out of it. Having my first computer at age 6 (for playing games of course) I learned my way around both the hardware and software side. At age 12 I started to get interested in making my games, so I rented a book from the library about Java and got working on a (simple) chess game. A couple years later I learned about PHP and started focussing on learning the code by simple adding and removing lines of code from existing codebases to see what it did and when it would break.

Lead Full-Stack Developer

Lead Developer building and maintaining client websites in WordPress. Building custom plugins and API integrations, and working from a SEO perspective.

Full-Stack Developer

Web Developer for maintaining website and working on new website.

Backend Developer for new API written in Laravel Lumen, which handles order management between different external API's.

Netwerven Amsterdam, The Netherlands July 2013 – December 2015

Lead Web Developer

Primarily PHP Backend Developer, but also internal support (both front- and backend). Team lead for the Support team, and technical support for Sales and Project Management towards clients.

Worked for 8 months internally at Booking.com for their career site, and worked on 30+ sites from start to finish.

Part of the 24/7 emergency support team.
